We are currently supporting over 30 active fishery and Chain of Custody clients in the Russian Far East, while also guiding credible Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) in collaboration with local, scientific, and public sector stakeholders across the Pacific Rim. Position SummaryWe are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional to join our team full-time as an MSC Chain of Custody (CoC) Client Support Assistant. This role supports seafood companies as they prepare for and undergo Chain of Custody certification under the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standard.
The selected candidate will be trained on the MSC CoC Standard and will report directly to the Chain of Custody Program Manager. The role requires strong team orientation and close collaboration with colleagues across time zones and functions. The CoC Client Support Assistant will contribute to shared deadlines and responsibilities in a supportive and fast-paced team environment. This is a remote position for most of the year, with mandatory fieldwork during the salmon fishing season in Kamchatka (approximately 1. 5 to 2 months between June and August).
Key Responsibilities- Provide ongoing administrative and technical support to client companies undergoing MSC CoC certification or audit processes- Guide clients through CoC audit requirements and timelines, using customized checklists, templates, and audit calendars- Track and help resolve non-conformities: interpret audit findings, coordinate evidence collection, prepare response documentation, and submit timely follow-up- Draft and update client-facing materials such as: instructional summaries, audit prep guides, checklists, templates, and visual aids- Maintain organized client folders and certification files, including certificates, deeds, contracts, invoices, and correspondence- Monitor internal project tracking systems (e. g.
, ClickUp or other databases) and share task updates across the team- Respond to incoming client emails and requests within 24 hours, escalating to team members as needed- Coordinate with the CoC Program Manager on scheduling, audit deadlines, and field logistics- Participate in weekly team meetings, sharing status updates, outstanding tasks, and planning needs- Translate audit-related documentation and communications (English ↔ Russian)- Assist with post-audit communications and seasonal client engagement- Support team collaboration across different time zones and contribute to a strong, respectful, and highly coordinated work cultureRequired Qualifications- 3–5 years of professional experience in fisheries, seafood processing, trading, sales, supply chain operations, or in sustainability-related fields- Bachelor’s degree (4-year university degree) or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines, documents, and task flows- Fluent in both English and Russian (written and spoken)- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) — our team relies heavily on these tools- Experience with ClickUp or other database/task management platforms- Willingness and ability to travel to Kamchatka or other remote locations for up to 2 months per year during audit season- Maturity, independence, and strong communication skillsPreferred Qualifications- Familiarity with seafood traceability systems or sustainability certification schemes (e.
