Job Title: Junior Product Owner Location: London, HybridSalary: Up to £45,000Industry: InsuranceContact: tommy. harris@forsythbarnes. comResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Insights – Gather, structure, and analyse business and product-related data using Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, and VBA). Translate findings into actionable recommendations that support product strategy and decision-making. Product Performance Monitoring – Develop and maintain Excel-based models, trackers, and reports to monitor product KPIs, customer behaviour, and market trends. Identify opportunities for product optimisation. Data Quality & Integrity – Conduct regular data checks within Excel to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business requirements.
Work with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve data processes. Reporting & Visualisation – Design clear and insightful reports, dashboards, and product roadmaps in Excel and Power BI. Ensure stakeholders have timely access to accurate, relevant information. Requirements Gathering & Solution Design – Partner with product managers and business teams to define user requirements, map processes, and propose Excel-based or integrated solutions. Project & Stakeholder Coordination – Support product-related initiatives through effective documentation, status tracking, and collaboration in Agile or hybrid delivery environments. RequirementsAdvanced Excel Expertise – Proficient in advanced functions, pivot tables, Power Query, VBA/macros, and complex modelling.
Experience integrating Excel with databases or APIs is advantageous. Analytical Mindset – Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, model scenarios, and evaluate product performance. Product & Business Knowledge – Experience in product lifecycle analysis, market research, or business process improvement. Data Visualisation Skills – Proficient in Power BI or similar tools for creating engaging, interactive reports. Communication & Stakeholder Skills – Able to explain technical insights to non-technical audiences, build consensus, and work effectively across teams. Project Delivery Experience – Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaboration in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
