As they advance through the series, they will manage increasingly complex transportation projects, take on more leadership responsibilities, and develop expertise in both transportation project management and construction inspection.

Essential FunctionsThe Project Manager positions within the Capital Projects Department are responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation and infrastructure construction projects. These roles involve overseeing the full scope of project management, including budgeting, scheduling, roadway design coordination, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. As positions progress, employees manage increasingly complex projects, provide leadership to team members, and serve as subject matter experts in transportation and construction management and inspection. .

Employees in these positions play a crucial role in ensuring that transportation and infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Project Manager I$65,344. 00 -$107,817. 00/annuallyMinimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Supplemented by two (2) years of experience in professional roadway design coordination, construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Depending on area of assignment may require possession of certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification or ability to obtain within one year of hireProject Manager II$79,579. 00- $131,305. 00/annuallyMinimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Supplemented by five (5) years of experience in professional roadway design coordination, construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Basic Life & AD&D InsuranceThe Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of basic life insurance for all of its employees. The Board provides term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) protection for each full-time employee. This is a County-paid benefit. Disability Insurance – Short Term and Long Term100% paid by Forsyth County. Eligibility begins date of hire. Short Term Disability – 60% of weekly earnings to a maximum of $1,000. 00 a week. Eligibility begins 14 days after an accident or sickness and has a benefit period of 24 weeks. Long Term Disability – 60% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $5,000.

Six Months through One Year of County ServiceForsyth County matches your contributions, dollar for dollar, up to 5% of your pay. That’s a 100% return on the first 5% of pay you save.

Years One through FiveForsyth County “seeds” your account with 5% of your pay each year, and matches 100% of what you contribute, up to 5% of your pay. Years 5 through 10The County continues its automatic “seed” contribution of 5% of pay, matches up to the first 5% of pay that you contribute, then adds a 50% match up to the next 5%. After 10 Years of ServiceYou continue to receive a 100% County match on the first 5% of pay you contribute, and 50% on the next 5% of pay you save. But now, the automatic contribution the County makes to “seed” your account each year increases to 7. 5% of your pay.
