The 123-room Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is the company’s second destination in Japan, in the city’s historic Higashiyama-ku district, close to the Kyoto National Museum and myriad heritage sites such as the Toyokuni Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple. Local artists are featured throughout the traditionally-inspired modern décor characterised by an understated Japanese aesthetic. JustificationThe Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is looking for a Fitness Attendant.

As a member of the Spa & Fitness, the Fitness Attendant works across disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience. Successful candidates must possess legal work authorization for Japan. ResponsibilitiesThe Fitness Instructor will be responsible for assisting guests in all aspects of fitness and wellbeing. This will include classes, specific training, inductions and general gym monitoring and cleanliness.
This role will include assistance as and when required with other parts of the spa, particularly concerning daily operational maintenance of pool and changing facilities Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Spa. Provide the proper and safe operation and care of all health club equipment including pool, mist chairs Jacuzzi, gym equipment, free weights, bicycles, mists, ofuro area and handicapped lift. Provide information and assistance to hotel guests as requested, give them an orientation, have them register and is familiar with all hotel services and hours of operation.
The ability to ensure the mist chairs, Jacuzzi and pool meets the Board of Health requirements through cleaning and chemical treatments. Monitor water quality and report any unacceptable variance to the in charge. Work closely with the Engineering department to administer preventive maintenance procedures and to limit equipment down time by ensuring proper use and care. Report equipment malfunctions promptly and accurately. Ensure safety procedures are followed, and notify Security of any accident or injury.
Issue, stock and order towels, robes, swimsuits, toiletries, juices, fruits and other items or amenities needed in the area to provide guests with a level of service in keeping with a Four Seasons. Work closely with Housekeeping to keep the area meticulously clean and fresh. Supplement heavy cleaning performed by Housekeeping by touching up sinks, counters, floors and other areas as necessary Handle lost and found items, locker keys and keep them inventoried. To provide a friendly and professional service that always exceeds guest’s expectations.
To ensure the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety are executed. To undertake other duties and responsibilities which, while outside the normal routine, are within the overall scope of the position. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform/attire and name badge. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department personal appearance standards. To comply with local legislation as required.
To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments through working by The Golden Rule. To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
