Job Description

Role OverviewWe are seeking a Fraud Team Leader to manage the daily execution and strategic direction of our fraud prevention team. This role reports directly to the Head of Fraud and serves as a key leadership link between the analyst team and senior management. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the fraud rule lifecycle, mentoring staff, and evolving our risk posture across all merchant brands.Key Areas of ResponsibilityFraud Strategy & Program Direction: Evolve and maintain the overall fraud prevention strategy. Set priorities and long-term vision to ensure alignment with organizational risk tolerance and revenue goals.Team Leadership & Performance: Oversee the daily operations of the Fraud Analyst team. Manage resource allocation, conduct performance reviews, and provide mentorship to both junior and senior members.Rule Governance & Optimization: Govern the entire fraud rule lifecycle, from testing to final deployment. Approve strategy changes to ensure optimal False Positive rates and high detection efficiency.Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams (Operations, Product, Legal) and B2B merchants. Communicate risk postures and policy changes to ensure seamless integration.Systemic Risk Mitigation: Prioritize infrastructure improvements. Suggest enhancements for new tools, such as Machine Learning models and BI reporting, to address vulnerabilities.Executive Reporting & Compliance: Monitor and synthesize reports on fraud losses, VAMP ratios, and emerging risks for Senior Leadership. Ensure adherence to all card scheme compliance requirements.RequirementsTechnical Proficiency: Direct experience with the SEON fraud tool is highly desired.Leadership Experience: Proven track record of supervising or leading a team in a fraud or risk environment.Analytical Background: Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable risk strategies.Communication: Strong ability to relay technical risk information to non-technical B2B stakeholders and executive leadership.
