Amsterdam (Hybrid – 1–2 days a week)3–6 months | 32-40hrs/ weekStart: Jan 2026 / 3-6 month contractWe're looking for someone who has real hands-on BIRD experience in a banking environment. The assignment is simple in scope: deliver the semantic model and mapping work for regulatory reporting.No BI dashboards. No engineering. No dbt pipelines. Just the BIRD layer and the rules that sit behind it.What you'll actually doBuild a clear BIRD semantic layer (definitions, entities, naming, glossary)Map data from source systems into BIRDMap data from BIRD into FINREP/COREPDocument rules, transformations and lineage clearly for engineersHelp Finance/Risk decide how to apply the standard where things don't fit neatlyHand it over properly so the team can maintain it going forwardThis is information architecture for regulatory reporting , not data engineering.What we need you to bringYou've worked with BIRD in a bank (not just read the docs)You understand FINREP/COREP/AnaCredit well enough to model themYou're strong at semantic modelling, mapping and documentationYou can speak both regulatory and technical languageYou can explain why things should be modeled a certain way, and hold that lineYou can use SQL to validate logic (not to build pipelines)Nice to haveFamiliarity with Azure or Databricks (just to understand the environment)Experience in a digital bank or smaller organization (less bureaucracy, more decisions)Comfort with versioned documentation (Git, Confluence, etc.)Understanding of Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)What success looks likeBy the end of the contract, there's a BIRD-aligned semantic model and mapping package that engineers can implement without guesswork. It's clean, documented, and ready to build.
