We track production volumes and specifications for machinery across various sectors, offering clients the critical data and analysis they need for strategic decision-making.We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freelance Market Analyst to focus on the European Generator Sets (Gen Sets) production segment.This is a flexible, freelance, hourly-based contract that offers the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere within the European Union.The Role: European Gen Sets Market Analyst (Freelance)As a Freelance Market Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and validating data related to the production volumes of Generator Sets across Europe. Your primary goal will be to ensure the accuracy and depth of Power Systems Research's market intelligence within this key sector.Key ResponsibilitiesData Collection & Validation: Identify and track manufacturers, production sites, and production volumes of generator sets within European Union member states.Market Sizing: Collect and analyze primary and secondary data to estimate and forecast quarterly and annual production volumes, segmented by key criteria (e.g., fuel type, power rating, end-user application).Industry Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market dynamics, technological trends, and regulatory changes affecting the European gen sets market.Primary Research: Conduct targeted interviews (via phone/video) with industry contacts, manufacturer representatives, and market experts to validate data and gather qualitative insights.Reporting: Maintain and update internal databases and provide clear, concise analysis and commentary to the Power Systems Research team on significant market movements, new product introductions, or facility changes.Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest level of accuracy and integrity in all reported data and analysis.  Candidate ProfileEssential Requirements:Proven experience in market research, data analysis, or a related field, preferably within the industrial machinery, automotive, or power generation sectors.Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and draw actionable conclusions.Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory. All internal reporting and communication will be in English.Fluent German (written and spoken) is mandatory. This is essential for communicating with key manufacturers in major European production hubs.Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.Self-starter with excellent time management skills, capable of working independently and meeting deadlines under a remote, flexible contract structure.Highly Desirable (Bonus Qualifications):Knowledge of the Generator Sets industry (e.g., familiarity with key players, market segments, and industry terminology).Fluency in Italian (written and spoken).Based in Belgium.Contract and LocationContract Type: Freelance / Independent ContractorCompensation: Hourly rate, based on experience and scope of work.
