Job Description

A freight forwarder is responsible for organizing and monitoring the shipment of goods, ensuring timely delivery while managing logistics, documentation and compliance with regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesOrganize Shipments: Coordinate the transportation of goods from the point of origin to the destination, negotiating contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effective and efficient routes. Documentation Management: Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and insurance forms. Customs Clearance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations and facilitate smooth customs clearance for international shipments. Client Communication: Maintain excellent communication with clients, providing updates on shipment status and addressing any issues that arise during transportation. Logistics Coordination: Work with various stakeholders, including shipping companies, customs agents, and warehouse personnel, to ensure timely delivery of goods. Cost Management: Research and recommend shipping solutions to minimize costs and environmental impactswhile ensuring the safe transport of goods.Qualifications and SkillsEducation: A degree in logistics, transportation, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not always required. Experience: Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field is advantageous. Knowledge: Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and freight forwarding processes. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
