Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. In an industry where $300 billion is spent annually on labor, we are fundamentally changing the experience for companies and workers by adding trust, transparency, and technology to workforce management and enable smarter business decisions.The Growth team wants to dramatically improve the activation of Workyard customers. We believe that our best chance to achieve this is to ideate and iterate on the activation experience with a dedicated team of people who each care deeply about getting to the truth of the fastest way to deliver value to our customers.This Front End Engineer role exists to help us validate customer centric ideas fast - primarily this relates to helping new customers experience the value of our product as fast as possible. To do this we need a Software Engineer who can move fast and stand up experiments in a small team that address these ideas in the most efficient way possible.This is a hybrid role: 2 days in our offices in Sydney (Surry Hills), and 3 days remote.ResponsibilitiesWork within our Growth team to experiment, iterate fast and drive confidence in our prioritisation of ideasTransform the technical elements of a test into a minimum viable testSpot the shortest technical path to validate an ideaImplement tests with analytics in mindHelp prioritise the running of experiments based on your knowledge of the effort required to develop and ship an MVPRequirements3-5 years of experience in web development. We use TypeScript (React) and PHP (Laravel) but any mix of languages and a desire to learn is great.Experience in a startup/scaleup environment is essential.Experience working in an autonomous pod that ships independently of the broader company directionAbility to prioritise investment in handling edge cases versus shipping a testAnalytical ability to think beyond the happy path scenarios and ask relevant questions to dig deeper and make sure all bases are coveredHighly focused: you have a great ability to differentiate the essentials from the nice-to-haves in a way that gets you as fast as possible to the end result.B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalentUnfortunately, we're not able to sponsor for this role, so we can only consider candidates with full working rights in Australia.Note to agencies: Unsolicited CV's will not be accepted.
