Perrotis College offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture and Management, Business Studies, Food Science & Technology and Environmental Science. The approach of the College is strongly interdisciplinary, while its pedagogical methodology is both research oriented and practical, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning-by-doing projects. Perrotis College is accredited by the New England Council of Higher Education (US) and its programs are also validated by Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK). Each of the Departments of Food Science & Technology and Sustainable Agriculture & Management invite applications for a full time faculty position with a strong academic and professional background in corresponding field, with expertise in academic research, and applied field experience.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in the relevant field Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and learning methods Conduct research activities and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research Develop and maintain a strong, independent research program with publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journalsSecure external research funding (national & international)Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service; collaborate with industry, associations, government bodies, and other relevant stakeholdersParticipate in curriculum development, assessment, departmental administration, and service to the institution.For Sustainable Agriculture & ManagementRequired Qualifications:PhD in Precision Agriculture, Crop Production or related agronomy fields Scientific background and experience in Precision Agriculture and Field Crop ProductionDemonstrated experience in designing and conducting field and greenhouse experimentsAbility to advise and work with farmers on best practices in sustainable crop managementBroader experience in sustainable crop systems and regenerative agriculture Desirable Qualifications and Experience:Experience in fruit tree and olive productionExperience in greenhouse crop managementFor Food Science & TechnologyRequired Qualifications:● PhD degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field● Advanced scientific background and professional experience in Food Science and Technology● Proven ability to design and conduct food-related experiments● Capacity to advise and collaborate with a diverse group of food related professionalsDesirable Qualifications and Experience● Experience in Food Processing and Engineering● Documented industrial experience in the food sectorFor both positionsRequired Qualifications:Evidence of effective teaching ability in English and interest in pedagogyDemonstrated excellence in research (publications, grants) and, for higher ranks, leadership in the fieldGood command of English (spoken and written)Ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage in interdisciplinary work Desirable Qualifications and Experience● Academic or professional experience in the United States● Familiarity with the US and/or UK higher education systemsApplicants should submit: 1. their CV, 2. a personal statement of teaching philosophy and interests and 3. contact information of three professional references, stating the field for which they would like to apply, electronically in a PDF format by email to: hr@afs.edu.gr
