So, if you're ready to make your mark, we're ready to welcome you!Your Mission in FuncomAs a Writer, you will help to shape the stories that we tell in the Dune universe and be a part the voice of a new generation of Dune experiences for our players.

You will be responsible for dialogue, lore, item descriptions, cinematic scripts and radio content that fits within the universe of Dune. You will have the opportunity to captivate players by creating memorable stories in a world-famous IP. As a Writer you have experience with planning and implementing plotlines, quests, narratives, and characters. And barks. Never forget barks. You are well read, not only in the world of Dune, but in general across the breadth of science fiction and you have a strong understanding the elements that make Frank Herbert’s universe unique.

You enjoy working with a small, dynamic team where you will receive constant feedback and new assignments and have the opportunity to make a big mark on a beloved world. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Oslo Studio. How you can have an impact in your position: Write narratives, characters, cinematics, item descriptions and lore elements using our in-house tools. Expand the plotlines of Dune: Awakening following Narrative Direction and the Content Bible. Help to create shared love for narrative throughout the project by working closely with other teams to elevate their content.

Create style guides and glossaries to help everybody internally speak a shared language about the world of Dune. We are looking for you to have: 3-5 years of experience as a writer in the gaming industry or similar (PnP RPG, Boardgames). Ability to work with custom dialogue tools and competence with game engine pipelines. Good understanding of the writing process and how it pertains to game design. Clear, effective communication across teams and cultures. Self-motivated and self-driven to collaborate. Ability to work with resolve while thinking critically. In addition, ideally you might also have: A Bachelor’s degree.

Native-level proficiency in English. Experience working on survival games. Enjoys playing survival genre games. Familiarity with Dune and the Dune IP.
