James Aluminium Products designs, manufactures, finishes, fabricates and sells a wide range of aluminium extruded profiles to Australian and export markets from our state of the art Manufacturing Facility located in Eagle Farm. Based at Eagle Farm, G. James Aluminium Products Division is seeking a Die Designer to support a wide range of designs and production drawings (including state of the art tool room, with an emphasis on aluminium extrusion presses).
The RoleThe role involves producing precise and practical tooling designs that support high-quality manufacturing outcomes. It’s well suited to someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for precision engineering, and a solid foundation in CAD. Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D modelling, and a qualification in Industrial Design or a related discipline are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign accurate and practical extrusion dies to meet production and quality standardsPrepare detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorksPrepare 3D meshing for simulationCollaborate with manufacturing team to ensure designs are feasible and optimizedInspect and review die designs to support troubleshooting and continuous improvementAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:
