Inspired by its amateur status and supported by the voluntary efforts of all its members, the GAA devotes its entire resources to the development of Gaelic Games and Culture nationally and in local communities.Role OverviewThe GAA Safeguarding Executive shall play a key role in promoting the safeguarding and protection of children and young people in the Association. The chosen candidate shall be a key member of Associations National Safeguarding Team with specific responsibilities relating to safeguarding training and development and implementation of policyReports ToGAA Safeguarding Manager.Responsibilities Shall IncludeAssistwith theimplementation oftheAssociations Child Safeguarding Policyat Club and County level.Coordinatethe design,developmentand delivery of safeguarding training workshops.Promote and support adherence tochild safeguarding legalisation.Act as the Association Deputy Designated Liaison Person.Liaise with safeguarding tutors across the four provinces to ensure that tutors are delivering the most effective high standard workshops.Assistwith the developmentand implementationthe GAA Safeguarding Training Policy.Coordinateand managethe GAA Safeguarding TrainingWorkshopCalendar.Assistwith the creation of safeguarding workshops on our education and training platform.Responding and providing effective advice to internal and external stakeholders with regard to safeguarding queries in a timely manner.Work closely with colleagues in Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and the Camogie Association to ensure effective collaboration in the area of safeguarding training across all 3 Associations.Liaise asappropriate withGAA personnel,otherDepartmentsand external agenciesonsafeguarding training.Monitoringand keeping up to date withthe implementation of child safeguarding statutory guidance and legislation.Maintain and develop knowledge and skills relevant for the position ofGAASafeguardingExecutivethrough regular training and professional development.The GAA SafeguardingExecutiveshall also undertake other child related roles asdeemedappropriate bytheir Manager.Essential CriteriaAminimum of 3 years experience workingin the area ofsafeguarding and/or a relevant or relatedfield;Athird level degree (Minimum Level 7 NFQ);Knowledge of child safeguarding legislation on the island of Ireland and GAA and Gaelic Games Associations safeguardingpolicies;Experience in the design,developmentand delivery of training, withparticular referenceto safeguardingtraining;Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersExceptional organisational skills with proven experience in working to tight deadlines and achieving set targetsAbility tomaintainhigh levelof accuracy and attention to detail whilst working under pressure to strictdeadlines;Ability to work independently on own initiative and perform as part of ateam;Excellent administrative skills with a strong working knowledge of IT related packages and systems such as Microsoft Office (Excel,PowerPointandWord;An interest in, and understanding of the activities,objectives,policiesand structure of the GAA.Desirable CriteriaPreviousexperience of working within the GAA (or similar organisation) at a professional or volunteercapacity;The role holder must have access to a form of transport which will enable them to fulfil their responsibilities infull;Other RequirementsAbility to be flexible in performance of responsibilities; Role willrequirework at weekends and late evenings during some periods.Candidates interested in the above role should apply with anup to datecover letter and Curriculum Vitaetoon orbefore3pm on9thof November 2025TheGAA is an equal opportunities employer
