Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.Position: AI Tutor – Video Game SpecialistType: Full-timeCompensation: $90,000–$200,000/yearLocation: Based in Palo Alto, CA (in-office, 5 days per week) or fully RemoteCommitment: Typical hours: 9:00am–5:30pm PST during training, then aligned with your local timezoneRole ResponsibilitiesUse proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate gaming data, including mechanics, storylines, and design elements.Provide high-quality feedback on gameplay, creativity, and overall user experience.Collaborate with technical teams to design annotation workflows that improve AI game generation.Analyze and critique AI-generated games for functionality, balance, and innovation.Reference game development trends, tools, and best practices for accurate annotations.Test and iterate on AI-generated content to enhance model understanding of player engagement.QualificationsMust-HaveBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field.Proven experience in game design or development, preferably within the indie game space, supported by a strong portfolio.Strong ability to evaluate game quality, including gameplay, storytelling, and mechanics.Experience playtesting or iterating on game prototypes to refine creativity and functionality.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and creative judgment.Passion for the evolution of AI in game design and interactive entertainment.PreferredExperience in AI-assisted game development, playtesting, or working with indie game studios.Extensive gaming experience and deep familiarity with different genres, platforms, and player communities.Compensation & LegalCompetitive pay ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 annually for U.S.-based professionals, depending on experience and location.For international candidates, compensation ranges are available upon request.Access to medical benefits, subject to your country of residence.Application Process (Takes 20–30 mins to complete)Submit your resume.Complete a 20-minute introductory interview.Selected candidates will move on to a focused game design and evaluation exercise.Finalists will participate in a team discussion and review of their expertise.The full process typically concludes within one week.Resources & SupportFor details about the interview process and platform information, please check: https://talent.docs.mercor.com/welcome/welcomeFor any help or support, reach out to: support@mercor.comPS: Our team reviews applications daily.
