Garment Technologist

Title: Garment Technologist (Jersey-Clothing)Job Purpose:To provide technical support to the QC, Merchandise teams in the production of NS BD provided that fulfils the buyers’ expectation in terms of price, margin, delivery and quality, whilst achieving NS KPI’s, sales and profit targets.Job Responsibilities:Ensure that factory has full understanding of the NS development processNeed to work with Designer, Development Merchandiser and Factories to ensure a detailed and accurate sample pack is given out on First timeClear instructions regarding stitching and finishingCorrect block reference and accurate size specificationAssist factories at every stage of development / fit process to ensure a smooth approval processEnsure there is no conflicting information regarding developmentAccurately measure and log measurements before sending sample to UK officeEnsure that critical path is updated and be responsible for liaising with merchandisers to chase factories for samples to be in NS BD office in plenty of time to check thoroughly against UK comments before being submitted to UK for fit approvalClear comments / suggestions are made in workbook for UK technologist to refer to when fitting sampleWorking with UK technologist to ensure the most effective route for approvalReview comments from UK Technologist and ensure all points are clearly explained to our factoriesMaintain sample progress sheets and update in systemMonitor success of each supplier in connection to sample accuracy and meeting set dates regarding critical pathGenerate and maintain be accountable for workbook consolidation and maintenance from white seal / first fit sample request through to gold sealBe responsible for constructive work book comments, ensuring autonomy at all timesCompetencies & Skills:Preferable minimum 5-8 years with relevant experience as Product Technologist/ Fitting Tech/ Garment Tech in sourcing officeExperience working with the UK market is an advantageComprehensive technical knowledge for - JerseyExcellent command of both written and spoken EnglishStrong fitting knowledge in relevant product groupExcellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsKindly share your CV to careers@bd.nextsourcing.com
