Introduction SentenceFor our new location at Keflavik airport, Island Duty Free we are recruiting aYour new job includesAs Finance & Controlling Manager you are responsible for overseeing the financial health and strategic planning of the local company at Keflavik airport in close collaboration with the HQ in Germany to identify business opportunities and risks. You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support business decision-making, driving improvements in financial reporting quality, accuracy, and operational performance.

In particular, you willprepare and analyze management reports for shareholders, including monthly accruals and financial commentary, and prepare Board Meeting presentations according to shareholder standards. oversee local budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, ensuring financial transparency and alignment with business goals. monitor operational performance, conduct variance analysis, propose improvement initiatives, and support investment decisions with financial modeling and risk assessment. ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax, and customs requirements, and develop and implement locally required management reporting tools and processes.

collaborate with other business functions to align financial strategies with operational needs and act as a key liaison with HQ for financial reporting, audits, and system implementations. ensure the integrity of financial data and develop internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Preferred ProfileA bachelor's or master's degree in finance, controlling, business administration, or a related field, coupled with proven experience in financial controlling, ideally within the retail or travel retail sectorExcellent command of English both written and spoken, ideally Icelandic to effectively communicate in global environmentStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage complex financial data, providing valuable insights for decision-makingProficiency in MS Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint, as well as SAP FI/CO and ideally experience with BI tools is highly desirableA hands-on mentality with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work seamlessly across different business functionsExperience in implementing new financial systems and processes is a significant advantage, driving innovation and efficiency in the companyIf you do not tick all boxes, but still believe you are a match to this role, we are happy to get in touch.
