General Accountant

We take pride in our collaborative, forward-thinking environment and are looking for a motivated accounting professional to join our dynamic team.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and energetic General Accountant to join our Finance Department. This full-time role will work closely with our Controller and report directly to the Director of Accounting & Finance at our Seabrook, NH location. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in general accounting with exposure to project-based and construction-related accounting practices, including AIA billing, prevailing wage, and job cost tracking. Familiarity with ADP Total Source platform is a plus.This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a small but growing company, enjoys working collaboratively, and is eager to help improve and implement accounting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll for 50 plus employees, including compliance with prevailing wage requirements where applicable.Perform accounts receivable tasks such as customer invoicing (including AIA formats) and collections.Process accounts payable and maintain positive vendor relationships.Prepare state sales tax filings, payments, and ensure compliance across applicable jurisdictions.Support the month-end close and assist with reconciliations, including project-related cost reporting.Collaborate with the Director, Controller, and outside accounting firm to streamline and improve accounting workflows.Participate in the development and implementation of new accounting processes and systems as the company scales.Maintain accurate and organized financial records in line with company standards and policies.Qualifications 4-Year Degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a project-based or service industry environment.Experience with QuickBooks Online Enterprise Suite strongly preferred.
