General Manager

We are looking for a visionary and results-driven General Manager to lead our client company’s operations in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale projects, while driving sustainable growth and strengthening market position. The new Managing Director will represent the company to businesses and stakeholders in Romania.Location: RomaniaKey Responsibilities:Strategy & Organizational DevelopmentLead the overall development of the company and design, implement, and monitor short-mid-and long-term business strategies.Develop and manage the executive team to support company goals.Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors/Stakeholders on company performance and propose strategic initiatives.Represent the company with business partners, investors, authorities, and other key stakeholders, strengthening its market position and reputation.Project ManagementEnsure that construction projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the agreed quality standards.Supervise the entire project lifecycle: planning, procurement, execution, commissioning, and handover.Supervise all aspects of project execution, from planning and procurement to commissioning.Monitor project progress and implement corrective measures to achieve schedule, cost, and quality objectives.Resource & Team CoordinationEnsure compliance with contracts, health & safety requirements and environmental standards.Oversee workforce planning and ensure the optimal allocation of human resources across projects.Develop and lead the executive management team to align with company goals.Promote a performance-driven organizational culture based on collaboration, accountability, and excellence.Financial & Operational ManagementTake full P&L ownership, focusing on cost control, profitability, and sustainable growth.Review and validate project budgets from both technical and financial perspectives.Implement and monitor policies for forecasting, margin control, and risk management.Compliance & StandardsEnsure strict adherence to contracts, health & safety regulations, and environmental requirements.Oversee compliance with all applicable legal and industry standards in the construction sector.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Construction Management; a master’s degree or MBA is a strong plus.Minimum 10 years of executive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the construction sector, preferably in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure.Proven track record of successfully delivering renewable energy projects on time and within budget.Full P&L responsibility in a mid-sized or larger organization (ideally €15M+ annual revenue).Strong experience in resource planning and cross-checking project budgets from both technical and financial perspectives.In-depth knowledge of solar construction processes, cost structures, and industry best practices.Advanced financial and analytical skills, with a solid grasp of forecasting, margin control, and risk management.Decisive and pragmatic leadership style with a hands-on approach to operations.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Fluency in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
