ResponsibilitiesESG Compliance and Strategy Development:Develop long-term ESG strategies that align with corporate objectives, and ensure that these strategies are effectively communicated and implemented across the organization, fostering a culture of environmental and social responsibility.Ensuring that all operations exceed regulatory requirements by developing comprehensive compliance strategies and leading the implementation of these strategies across all departments by setting high-level goals, monitoring progress, and addressing any compliance gaps identified during regular audits.Environmental Stewardship InitiativesLead the development and implementation of advanced environmental stewardship initiatives within the Hydro PSP plant, focusing on reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability through innovative practices and technologies.Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of environmental initiatives, making data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes, and ensure that all activities are documented and reported to both internal and external stakeholders.Developing Reporting FrameworksDevelop and oversee the ESG reporting frameworks used within the Hydro PSP plant, ensuring that they are robust, transparent, and aligned with both industry standards and regulatory requirements by creating standardized reporting procedures that facilitate the accurate and timely collection of ESG data across all departments.Ensure that all ESG reports are comprehensive, providing detailed insights into the plant’s environmental, social, and governance performance, and use these reports to guide strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.Social Responsibility ProgramsOversee the planning and execution of social responsibility programs aimed at improving the welfare of local communities and enhancing the plant’s social impact by identifying key areas where the plant can make a positive difference, such as education, health, and infrastructure, and developing programs that address these needs.Ensure that social responsibility initiatives are aligned with the plant’s overall ESG strategy, and monitor the impact of these programs through regular assessments and stakeholder feedback.Governance Structures And ProcessesLead efforts to enhance governance structures and processes within the Hydro PSP plant, ensuring that they are robust, transparent, and aligned with best practices in corporate governance.Ensure that all governance processes are well-documented, consistently applied, and communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders, contributing to the plant’s overall operational integrity and ethical standards.Stakeholder EngagementLead stakeholder relations efforts by developing and executing comprehensive engagement strategies that ensure open, transparent, and proactive communication with all external stakeholders & overseeing the management of relationships with regulatory bodies, local communities, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholders.Ensure that all stakeholder communications are aligned with the plant’s ESG objectives, and that feedback from stakeholders is actively sought, documented, and used to inform ongoing ESG initiatives and decision-making processes.Key Stakeholders - InternalDirect Supervisors & other Department LeadersProject ManagerEngineering HeadFinance DepartmentHR DepartmentProcurement DepartmentSafety OfficerIT DepartmentLegal DepartmentKey Stakeholders - ExternalGovernment Regulatory BodiesGrid AuthorityHydro Equipment SuppliersLand OwnersLocal CommunitiesEnvironmental ConsultantsFinancial InstitutionsResearch InstitutionsQualificationsEducational Qualifications:Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Certifications offered by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) or the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) in environmental management or sustainability.Work Experience20+ years of experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.Proven track record in developing and implementing ESG strategies, conducting environmental impact assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.Strong understanding of environmental regulations, social responsibility standards, and governance frameworks.Must have experience in forest and environment clearance in hydro power plants.
