We’re seeking a commercially astute and strategic General Manager, Finance to lead financial operations across our global consulting business. This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for a finance professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders to turn financial data into meaningful decisions.The General Manager, Finance is responsible for providing strong financial insight and leadership to the NMG Consulting business. This role will work closely with the executive team and business leaders to ensure financial reporting requirements are in place to support the achievement of strategic and commercial objectives and growth targets. Responsibilities will also encompass leadership of a small finance team tasked to undertake management reporting, provide financial accounting and controls and manage budgets.Key to success in this role will see you effectively engage with a globally dispersed group of senior stakeholders, coupled with your strong technical ability, and motivation to understand the complexities of a global business and translate financials into insightful discussion and action. You will be working with a team of driven and highly numerate consultants and leaders who will look to you for guidance on their financial performance, gaps and risks on an ongoing basis.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Direction and Business PartneringProvide insight and analysis to actively support the CEO and other key leaders in decision makingDemonstrate a strategic mindset, deriving insights from financial data and recommending innovative solutions to drive performanceLead and manage the annual budgeting process (and quarterly re-forecasts), ensuring a thorough interrogation of assumptions and driversPartner with stakeholders in the allocation and payment of bonuses as they relate to profit share arrangements, modelling various outcomes and providing guidance as requiredIdentify, lead and undertake ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects as required to drive efficiency and performanceManage the financial planning process for all quarterly, annual and strategic financial plans, presenting outputs to the executive teamFinancial Control & ReportingGuide the Head of Accounting and team to deliver effective financial control and reporting including:Overseeing external and internal audit processesEnsuring compliance with appropriate statutory, financial accounting and auditing requirementsEnsuring adequate financial controls are in placeEnsuring compliance with relevant financial policies and proceduresPreparation of monthly management accounts as appropriateEnsure effective risk management processes are in place, including controls and budgets to mitigate potential financial and reputational lossesDevelop and communicate operational metrics (business intelligence) for all divisionsProvide an effective financial reporting system to ensure accurate and timely reportingManage the tax strategy of the organisation as efficiently as possible, and report on a regular basis to the Group CFO and the Board on the tax position of the business, highlighting any areas for concernDevelop key performance measures and indicators for the business, undertaking analysis against these and reporting key findings to the business heads on an ongoing basisAnalyse financial and operational information, identifying strengths and weaknesses and recommending improvements in methods and processes to achieve cost savings and efficiency gainsProject & Management AccountingCollaborate with other accounting team to provide financial and accounting support to executives and department heads who establish goals and budgets for the organizationCollecting and analysing data about a company's operational expendituresDevelop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organizationProvide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or servicesMake estimates of new and proposed product costsMonitors the progress of projects, investigates variancesLeadership & ManagementProvide leadership and direction to the NMG Consulting Finance team, ensuring close interaction between the function and the leadership team and sound support to the businessMentor and guide the team to support growth and development of team membersEnsure the finance function is provided with adequate navigation, forecasting and business planning tools and proceduresLive the NMG values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Go for It, and Make it CountYOUR EXPERIENCEDegree qualified in Accountancy or FinanceA minimum of 8 years of experience in a Finance roleProject or cost accounting experience is required (minimum of 2 years)Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a teamA solid commercial understanding with the ability to make recommendations to the business and develop key measures from a financial perspectiveExperience in stakeholder management, working closely with business leaders on financial reporting and informationInternational exposure or experience, with proven ability to influence across a global remitA strong understanding of accounting software principlesExposure to dashboarding, including PowerBI and SQLExposure to an ERP system or experience with SAP would be a plusAbility to provide accurate and insightful data that is presented in a clear mannerStrong abilities in financial modellingAbility to think outside of the box and flexibly, with a solutions driven mindsetExperience in a consulting organisation is preferred, but not essentialJoin a global team of driven professionals who value insight, innovation, and impact.
