Come join our team! Rugby Manitoba is looking for a passionate and experienced sport administrator to join our team in the role of General Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and hiring new team members. . The General Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations of Rugby Manitoba, and working closely with the Board of Directors to implement programming including but not limited to the Provincial Performance Program and Senior Club rugby, and to guide the organization in bringing the strategic plan to life. Interested parties are invited to submit a resume and cover letter to ed@rugbymb.ca by December 12, 2025. Position OverviewThe General Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective operation of the organization’s administrative, financial, and operational systems. This position supports the mission of the organization by managing day-to-day office operations, coordinating administrative processes, supporting staff and volunteers, overseeing compliance and reporting, and contributing to a positive and professional organizational culture.Key Responsibilities1. Office and Administrative ManagementOversee daily office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, supplies, and facilities management.Develop and maintain administrative systems, databases, and filing structures (digital and physical).Coordinate meetings, events, and board activities, including minute-taking and logistics.Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries and ensure excellent communication across departments.2. Financial and Compliance AdministrationSupport budget preparation, Funding Applications, expense tracking, and financial reporting in collaboration with the Finance Officer or Treasurer.Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in accordance with financial policies.Maintain records for audits, grants, and funding requirements.Liaise with Sport Manitoba accounting department on a weekly basis.3. Human Resources and Volunteer CoordinationSupport HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance record-keeping.Liaise, support, and manage Rugby Development Officer(s) in implementation of Provincial Performance Program, and rugby development strategy – High Schools, Club DevelopmentAdminister staff and volunteer schedules, contracts, and payroll documentation.Promote a supportive and inclusive culture among staff, coaches, and volunteers.4. Governance and Strategic SupportAssist the Rugby Manitoba Executive with governance documentation, annual reporting, and strategic planning.Prepare reports, presentations, and policy documents as required.Contribute to the development of organizational policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.5. Event and Program SupportProvide administrative support for sports programs, competitions, and community events.Liaise with Sport Manitoba Coaching, MARR, World Rugby, and Rugby Canada for planning, scheduling, and implementing Coach & Match Official Education.Support League Convenors with planning and execution of Senior rugby leagues.Support Youth Rugby coordinators for planning and implementation of Rookie Rugby Jamboree Season.Coordinate logistics for venues, registrations, permits, and communications.Liaise with stakeholders, sponsors, and partner organizations to ensure program success.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Experience in office or administrative management, preferably in a non-profit or community organization.Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and office management software.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and competing priorities.Desirable:Experience in the sports, recreation, or community sector.Familiarity with grant management, fundraising, or donor relations.Knowledge of non-profit governance and compliance requirements.Basic bookkeeping or financial management skills.Personal AttributesHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.Proactive problem solver with attention to detail.Passionate about community development and sport.Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
