Job DescriptionThis role will be expected to build on the established success of CooperVision Korea and develop a robust, future-ready strategy, taking into account the channel evolution and customer demand shifts in the market. They will own the day-to-day operations to deliver the P&L objectives.The GM will ensure that CVK maintains strong win-win partnerships with customers,and increase CVK’s value proposition in the marketplace by providing relevant products, compelling commercial programs and excellent services. Being able to manage channel conflict prudently and ensuring long term commercial success by keeping the customers closely engaged will be critical.The GM will need to develop a strong organization with deep bench by recruiting high caliber talents and developing the team with necessary skills and expertise for the current and future business. They are expected to strengthen and empower the local leadership team as well as engage and motivate the organization to create high performing culture.This role will be directly responsible to manage the commercial team including key accounts, national sales organization, marketing, professional affairs and provide indirect leadership to finance, logistics, warehouse, human resources, regulatory and legal.This role will report to the APAC President and will be a member of the APAC Leadership Team. This person is also expected to thrive in a matrix environment, collaborating with regional/global leaders to champion the needs of Korea with an enterprise mindset and focus on success.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a robust strategy to drive sustainable growth for Korea, taking into account the channel evolution and customer demand shifts in the market. Develop and execute sales, marketing, operational and organizational strategies to stay ahead of competition and increase share. Determine optimum utilization of financial and human resources for commercial success.Develop and own strong partnership with the customers. Increase perceived value in the marketplace by providing relevant products and excellent service. Ensure a well-trained and educated sales and marketing team, on time and complete shipments, and low customer complaint rate. Ensure timely follow-up when complaints or problems do occur. Develop a strong organization with deep bench strength for CooperVision. Strengthen and empower the leadership team to create high performing culture. Promote and harness a learning culture. Recruit high caliber talents and develop them with inspirational career plan, as well as engage and motivate the organization to perform at highest level.Oversee commercial execution in Korea. Deliver sales revenue, expense and gross margins targets through execution of the approved marketing and business plan. Use sales and marketing tools wisely to increase market share while maintaining a competitive average selling price. Drive improvements to stay ahead of competition.Collaborate with regional and corporate leaders to steer the strategy, balance the resources. Represent Korea needs and champion its success in regional and global stage with enterprise mindset. Partner closely with regional/global functional leaders for collective success. Lead and promote an inclusive and diverse culture, whilst embedding the CooperVision Values in all areas of the business. QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to inspire and engage leaders and the organization for higher performance Strong presence as a leader and as senior executive Proven successful experience in managing to a P&L Proven commercial strategist with proven strong executional skills / strong strategic thinker A seasoned general manager who has directly led a successful and high performing selling organization Performance and Results orientation. Proven track record of establishing clear expectations, setting objectives and bringing multiple parties together to drive key initiatives. Sets aggressive goals and delivers. A powerful communicator in both English and Korean High business and financial acumen A dynamic leader that loves people at all levels Sharp with numbers and sharp at the negotiating table Proven track-record to attract and retain exceptional talent. A focused and decisive individual who is willing to act based on limited information available and will not be fearful of making a decision in a new and unknown situation. Possess solid project management skills to handle multiple projects and manage timelines, excellent organizational skills.Work Environment: Office environment Frequent local & APAC Regional travel Field workExperience: Industry experience - Life Sciences / Medical Device preferred, but not required Consumer products experience a definite plus Experience in a regulated industry Korean market experience preferably with other Asia Pac market experience Proven successful relevant experiences with both the local business and market environment and working for a Western MNC Success in heavily matrixed organization - essential Executive management experience – led leadership teams Competed successfully against share leaders Government relations - preferred RAQA experience at some level – defined as knowledge and understanding of RA environment Experience working in matrix organization in close partnership M.A. or strategic alliance experienceEducation: Bachelors degree, preferably in finance, marketing, science and business management, MBA is strongly preferred.
