Job Description

The Metallurgical Department is seeking to employ a suitably qualified courageous safety leader for the position of General Plant Supervisor. The incumbent will oversee supervision and execution of all professional, technical and operational input for sustainable plant throughput and gold recovery at minimum costAbout the role:Assist and provide guidance in planning and coordinating shutdowns with plant and crusher operationsRegularly review process parameters to ensure parameters are within specified limits and adjust as necessary.Drive a culture of continuous improvement, introducing innovative solutions that improve throughput, recovery, and safety performanceReport on production metrics, safety performance, and workforce development outcomes to the Unit Manager (Metallurgy)Provide leadership, guidance, support and back-up to operational and maintenance personnel to develop the team, increase efficiency and achieve targets whilst adhering to mine standards and legislationProvide operational input for all project evaluations e.g. capital expenditure proposals and/or plant/process modificationsEstablish and uphold safety, environmental, production, and housekeeping standards.Ensure that policies and procedures are followed in compliance with regulations.About you:BSc Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering or Higher National Diploma (Extraction Metallurgy)At least 8 years’ work experience or more relevant operational experience in a continuous mineral process operation5 years’ working experience in a high tonnage throughput gold ore processing plantWorking knowledge in SAG Mill/Ball Mill/Pebble crushing/Carbon-in-leach gold plants/Gravity circuit/ Crusher circuit optimizationWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power pointDisplay excellent operational skillsAbility to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis
