DescriptionLocation: UCHealth UCHlth Memorial Hospital North, US:CO:Colorado SpringsDepartment: Cancer Service Line AdminFTE: Full Time, 0.8, 64.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)Shift: Days Pay: $36.19 - $54.28 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experienceSummaryProvides genetic counseling to patients with a medical or family history of cancer and/or genetic disease and coordinates program services.ResponsibilitiesCollects, reviews and interprets family/medical histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant/necessary information. Coordinates testing and communicates results to referring healthcare provider.Develops genetic counseling plans, including risk assessment, referrals, education, life planning options, and treatment options. Provides counseling and education to patients and their families. Identifies and provides referrals for testing, treatment, support, and advocacy. Researches, maintains, and applies knowledge of trends and developments in genetic disease research, testing, and treatment.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.RequirementsMaster's degree in Genetic Counseling.Certified as a Genetic Counselor (CGC) by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) or the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) within 1 year of hire.UCHealth invests in its Workforce.UCHealth offers a Three Year Incentive Bonus to recognize employee's contributions to our success in quality, patient experience, organizational growth, financial goals, and tenure with UCHealth.
