Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.Overview Of RoleOur Energy Unit provides Civil and Structural expertiseacross various projects including Transmission, Thermal,Renewable and Nuclear. Due to continued growth, weare looking for a motivated Principal GeotechnicalEngineer with demonstrable experience to join ourDigital Award-winning Civil and Structural Team.You’ll carry out work on Energy projects, fulfilling tasksincludingGround Investigation contract administration and preparation ofscope, specifications, interpretation and verification of groundinvestigation data and parameters for a ground model to assist indesignGeotechnical desks studies, preliminary assessments and reviewsof existing geotechnical reportingInvestigation contractor management on site and office,including reviewing of RAMs and monitoring health and safetycompliancePrepare Geotechnical Interpretative ReportsGeotechnical analysis, with experience in ground modelling andanalysis softwareWorking with engineers of other disciplines in a team in order toproduce integrated geotechnical assessments into the overallproject deliveryAssessing the geotechnical hazards and risks to projects andcommunicating appropriate solutionsAnswering technical queries and requests for information andforward to relevant designersSupport to proposals and production of client tender packagesCandidate Specification Degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (or similar)Experience in Energy developments, and ideally in one of thefollowing sectorsTransmission and Distribution (T&D) networksEnergy Generation (Renewables, Hydro and Thermal)NuclearWorking towards or has recently achieved chartered statusDemonstratable experience in ground investigation site works andmanaging Geotechnical Investigation contractors on siteExperience of CDM roles, notably Principal Designer and PrincipalContractor dutiesDemonstratable experience in foundation geotechnical designAt the outset we would expect some experience in all named areas but, shouldyour application be successful, you will have the opportunity to learn fromother team members in the wider geotechnical skills group and to furtherdevelop your skills.Any prospective candidate must display a willingness toengage with new challenges as well as an ability to work confidently on tasksfor which they have prior experience. Candidates should be able to demonstrategood written communication skills including report writing. The role will alsorequire good communication and people skills.
