Sugarland, Tx (Hybrid after 90 days)Department: Human Resources DepartmentReports To: Benefits ManagerCompensation: $18- $20 per hourShift Options: Monday – Friday, 9: 00 AM – 5: 00 PMPosition SummaryProvide administrative support for the day-to-day Benefits Team operations, ensuring timely and consistent responses to employee benefits questions and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll inform employees about health, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, retirement plans, and more. Additional duties include assisting with wellness events, Lunch ‘n Learns, and Wellness Wednesdays. Strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and knowledge of HIPAA, FMLA, and related laws are essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the first point of contact for employee benefits questions, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and retirement plans. Guide new hires and current employees through benefit options, eligibility, and enrollment processes. Maintain accurate and timely benefits data in the UKG HRIS system. Coordinate wellness initiatives such as Lunch ‘n Learns, Wellness Wednesdays, and Open Enrollment events. Present benefit overviews during New Hire Orientation sessions. Communicate benefit deduction changes to Payroll, especially related to leaves of absence and returns. Monitor shared inboxes and respond promptly to routine benefits inquiries.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support the overall success of the HR and Benefits team with a strong customer-first approach. Education And ExperiencePrior HR or Benefits experience preferred but not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Familiarity with HIPAA, FMLA, Medicare, and employment law compliance is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with UKG or other HRIS systems is a bonus. High level of confidentiality, accountability, and passion for helping people.

Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented. Work Environment & Physical RequirementsOffice-based role requiring long periods of sitting and regular use of standard office equipment (PC, phone, keyboard, etc. ). Occasional lifting may be required up to 25 lbs.
