More about the company at gildancorp. com. The opportunityMonitor the internal social compliance system to make sure Bangladesh operations are aligned with Gildan’s code of conduct. Carry out on-site and off-site compliance audits to contractors. Cooperate with clients’ requirements and timely follow up. Provide compliance insights when onboard new contractors.
Alert the team and suppliers about industrial updates and trends related to labor issues. Training and coaching with contractors about compliance requirements and resources. Support the environmental team with issues regarding Higg FEM & additional environmental requirements if needed. The roleSupervise the implementation of the internal social compliance monitoring system to ensure proper alignment with the principles, code and benchmarks of the Fair labor Association (FLA) and other frameworks such as WRAP, SMETA, SLCP, Better Work and CTPAT.
Work with company’s clients and private brands (if needed) to ensure Gildan will fulfill their requirements related to their social compliance standards. It includes coordination of external audits and timely follows up on remediation. Carry out benchmarking of practices and trends related to labor issues and determine revision or adoption of practices at Gildan facilities and supply chain. Preparation of facilities in new social compliance audits related to issues that include human resources, finance and occupational health and safety, as well as support to the security department with issues related to CTPAT and physical security in case needed.
Continuous support to annual training and refreshers regarding human rights topics and code of conduct. Monitoring and tracking human capital initiatives such as empowerment programs and digital grievance mechanisms. The requirementKnowledge & Professional ExperienceAt least bachelor’s degree in Industrial relations or engineering / Business Administration, law, or a related field from a reputed public or private university with a minimum of 10 years of experience. AttributesEngaging and influencing contractors to continuously improve their compliance practices. Follow up of contractors is key to ensure sustainability in Gildan ESG objectives and programs linked to contractors.
Positively influence management team to sustain new internal compliance related programs, procedures and best practices in Gildan sites in Bangladesh. Strong analysis, result oriented and problem-solving skills. Good crisis management, self-control and stress management skills. Capacity to understand and evaluate priorities and urgencies. Good interpersonal and customer service skills with a desire to collaborate with others.
