The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, data acquisition and maintenance, map production support, QA/QC & metadata.Technical Requirements2 years of related GIS experience or recent Geography based college graduate with GIS courseworkExperience with online platforms including Arc Server or Enterprise Portal a plusProficient with both ESRI ArcMap and Arc Pro software, including editing and some geoprocessing capabilitiesProficient cartographic skillsKnowledge and experience working with enterprise GIS databasesExcellent written and oral communication skillsExceptional organizational and project/workload management skillsBEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS:Positive attitude with a willingness to learnSelf-starter with initiative and the ability to work with minimal oversightCustomer service orientedStrong work ethic and teamwork skillsAbility to work in a diverse environmentAbility to manage stress and work constructively under time pressureOTHER INFORMATION:Regular Full Time, M-FOffice based in Atlanta, GA.)EDUCATION:Diploma or certificate in Geographical Information Systems or related curriculum. EXPERIENCE:0-2 Years Experience in a related field. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in managing and updating GIS databases, ensuring accurate geographical data input. Enter and update data within GIS databases. Assist in basic map creation using GIS tools. Support GIS Analysts in larger projects. Attend training to enhance proficiency in GIS software. Ensure data quality and consistency.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:GIS data manipulation and visualizationCombining datasets from many sources to create cartographic productsCreating exhibit maps to be used with land acquisition documentsProducing project update maps and feasibility study mapsEnterprise data managementSKILL SETS & EXPERTISE: Familiarity with GIS software and tools.This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
