We are looking for a Global Application Engineer with proven experience in power conversion systems, including inverters, rectifiers, and DC-DC converters, to support our growth in the renewable energy, hydrogen, and energy storage segments – with a focus on the Chinese market. Working closely with customers, you’ll help design and promote ABB portfolio of products and solutions that meet the growing demand for high performance, reliability, and sustainability in the evolving energy landscape. You’ll be at the forefront of experiencing and solving the electrification challenges of the future - directly alongside our customers.Your ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical voice of market for power conversion applications in solar, energy storage, and hydrogen segments and provide market feedback back to the internal stakeholdersValidate, develop and promote applications in solar, energy storage and hydrogen which involve ABB low voltage portfolio of products, systems and solutions.Define ABB and competitive landscape, monitor market trends in the above applications and recommend adjustments for the long and mid-term strategySupport customers to identify the best solutions for their projectsParticipate in the local standardization committee in ChinaYour backgroundBachelor’s degree in engineering and preferably 5 years of experience in energy storage, green hydrogen, solarExperience in power conversion systems such as inverters, rectifiers and DC-DC converters and battery protection and knowledge of Direct Current applicationsKnowledge of green hydrogen and fuel cells technology is considered a plusTechnical understanding and willingness to learn and continuously acquire new competences.Agile mindset and preferable experience in an agile working contextProficiency in written and spoken EnglishNegotiation skills, market knowledge, leadership skills, social skills complete the profileMore About UsABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
