Job Description

6 months contract to hireNewark, NJ (Hybrid)Role PurposeThe Portfolio data management and analytics role plays a critical role in enabling enterprise prioritization by owning the integrity, structure, and usability of the data that powers strategic decision-making. This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of the single source of truth for enterprise initiatives and supports seamless connectivity between strategy, execution, and resource allocation. You will work closely with Portfolio Director, portfolio Managers, Project managers, cross-functional teams, and digital partners to maintain and evolve the systems and data flows that enable clear portfolio visibility and insight.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the portfolio data infrastructure, ensuring completeness, consistency, and accuracy of initiative records across systems and tools (e. g. , Power BI, Excel trackers, project management systems). Liaise with functional data owners to ensure accuracy and the integrity of the project level data across key portfolios. Ensure all prioritized initiatives are properly captured, updated, and reflected in portfolio reviews and decision forums. Maintain and update the single source of truth for all active, proposed, and deprioritized projects across key portfolios — including metadata such as ownership, phase, resource load, value, timing, and status. Analyze portfolio dynamics (e. g.

, resource capacity vs. demand, value distribution, phasing patterns) and provide data-driven recommendations that inform prioritization, investment decisions, and governance outcomes. conduct ad hoc deep-dive analytics to answer critical business questions and uncover root causes of portfolio challenges. Make clear, data-driven recommendations on what needs to be true to meet portfolio targets and address resource constraints, supporting long-term planning and proactive decision-making. Support reporting and dashboarding needs, including recurring updates and ad hoc deep dives in partnership with analytics or visualization leads.

Support tool evolution efforts by testing enhancements, recommending improvements, and ensuring business needs are met in partnership with tech teams. Key Qualifications 5+ years of experience in data analytics, portfolio operations, financial planning, or business intelligence. Hands-on experience with project and portfolio management platforms, with demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following: Sopheon AccoladePlanviewPlaniswareSAP PPMExpertise in data analytics, reporting, and visualization, including: Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data models)Power BI or equivalent BI toolsScenario modeling and sensitivity analysisStrong business acumen with the ability to translate data into insights and connect analytics to business outcomes.

Experience with innovation or cost savings projects is a strong advantage. Proven ability to manage, organize, and draw insights from large, complex, and interdependent datasets. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills; able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for high-integrity data.
