Global HR DirectorWe are pleased to be exclusively partnering with a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector to appoint a Global HR Director, based in Singapore. This is a high-impact leadership role with the clear mandate to drive HR transformation across multiple geographies. The aim is to elevate the organization's current HR function and practices, taking it to the next level. With a strong appreciation for the strategic importance of the HR function, this role is empowered to shape the organization’s future readiness and ensure it remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving global economy. Do note that this is a full-time, permanent role based in Singapore, and your remit will span across multiple geographies including Asia and Europe. Occasional travel might be required.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will lead a geographically distributed HR team, comprising both direct and indirect reports, and work closely with senior leadership to shape the future of HR for a diverse workforce (blue- and white-collar employees). In this role, you will take full ownership of the global HR strategy and operations, with a mandate to elevate HR practices and position the organisation for future readiness. Your responsibilities will include driving organizational transformation. Some key projects include developing frameworks to strengthen skills and competencies, reviewing the performance management process, HRIS system, as well as other areas as necessary. You will also be responsible in ensuring competitive and equitable reward structures that attract and retain talent. In addition, you will lead your team to ensure the efficiency of HR operations.Given the nature of the unionised nature environment, you will manage industrial relations and foster constructive engagement with unions in different countries. Essentially, this role will partner closely with the C-suite and regional leaders to align HR initiatives with business priorities, focusing on workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement and talent development, to name a few. Ideal ProfileThe client seeks a seasoned HR leader with a proven track record in regional or global HR leadership roles for organizations with a sizeable blue-collar workforce. Experience in the manufacturing sector and managing unionized workforces will be highly advantageous. Candidates with experience in industries similar to manufacturing are welcome to apply. For example, sectors such as industrial and engineering, construction/infrastructure, electronics. As a guideline, you should have at least 15 to 20 years of HR experience, and prior experience leading geographically dispersed HR teams. Expertise in change management initiatives, HRIS implementation or rollout, and the ability to clearly articulate your experience in driving culture transformation are all critical must-haves. We would also be keen to understand what is in your toolkit for capability building! The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and the passion to build a positive work culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
