This is a full-time permanent position, in which you will report to Marimekko’s Head of Concept Home and Demand & Production Planning. This position is based either in Stockholm, Copenhagen or Helsinki and if based outside Finland,it requires frequent travel to the HQ in Helsinki, Finland.As a Global Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for executing and evolving the global merchandising strategy for the Home category, ensuring seamless alignment with Marimekko’s brand strategy, business objectives, design direction, and market needs across all channels. You will play a central role in driving growth and profitability through strategic assortment planning, pricing, and performance analysis.You will play a pivotal role in steering Marimekko’s global business from a merchandising perspective. Success in this role requires the ability to see the big picture while mastering the details — balancing strategic thinking with operational excellence. You will be responsible for translating global sales performance and market insights into actionable strategies that drive growth and profitability across all channels.In your role you collaborate in a matrix organization closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Sourcing, Global Retail & Wholesale, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising. Your ability to build strong partnerships and lead through influence is essential in aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared vision. With a global mindset and a hands-on approach, you will ensure that our collections meet both commercial goals and customer expectations, while staying true to Marimekko’s brand identity.Main responsibilities: Building, leading and managing the Home category products from a global merchandising perspective to meet growth and profitability targetsTranslating global sales performance and market trends into actionable insights and strategic direction for seasonal collectionsEnsuring a balanced and commercially successful product mix that reflects current trends, customer needs, and brand identityDriving operational excellence in collection planning, pricing strategy, and product lifecycle managementMaintaining a holistic view of the business and ensuring strategic decisions are grounded in both data and brand visionTo be successful in this role you should have:+5 years of experience in merchandising and collection building in an international premium brand or retail environmentRelevant educational background, preferably a degree from university or university of applied sciencesStrong analytical skills and deep understanding of retail and wholesale metricsProven ability to think strategically and act operationally in a fast-paced, complex environmentDemonstrated excellence in operational execution and attention to detailSolid business acumen and confident decision-making skillsExperience working across multiple distribution channels and understanding global consumer behaviorExcellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams in a matrix organizationStrong self-leadership and ability to manage responsibilities independentlyAdvanced numerical skills and proficiency in Excel for data-driven decision makingFluent in EnglishProactive, self-starting mindset with a hands-on approach and a drive to make things happenPassion for design, lifestyle, and creating meaningful customer experiencesAt Marimekko we encourage people to be themselves and value diversity.
