The Opportunity:Our Toronto-based client in the travel & tourism space is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Global People & Payroll Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will partner with the overseas payroll function to ensure the accuracy and completeness of global payroll submissions and changes in employee data. You will also be responsible for month-end duties including reconciling payroll provider statements, reviewing and consolidating sales commission calculations, and supporting budget and forecasting activities. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in financial performance. So apply now and one of our senior recruitment associates will connect with you soon!What You Will Be Doing:Partner with the overseas payroll function to review detailed global payroll submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of employee data and collaborating with the CFO for recurring payroll reviews.Liaise with global intercompany accounting teams to invoice for outbound services.Review and record inbound payroll charges to the appropriate cost centers to ensure accurate reporting of people costs across international teams.Perform month-end close activities, including reconciling payroll provider statements to general ledger accounts and reconciling intercompany accounts to services charged.Review and consolidate sales commission calculations, submit worldwide inputs to relevant service providers, and prepare monthly commission analyses for both direct and indirect channels.Support budgeting and forecasting processes by developing, maintaining, and improving models related to global wage and benefit costs.Assist with the bonus program and financial forecasts by preparing detailed calculations.Review, track, and approve global contractor expenses to support the company’s people cost strategy.Collaborate with People Operations to investigate payroll and tax compliance matters, refine employee-related policies, and contribute to ad hoc financial or operational projects.Respond to inquiries from tax authorities such as the CRA and IRS regarding withholdings, remittances, and filings.Prepare and submit monthly and annual financial schedules and reports as required.Support external audit processes by coordinating and completing audit requests.Identify and implement process and governance improvements for compensation-related payments, including commissions, contractors, and agencies.Ensure adherence to the organization’s internal financial control framework.Job Requirements:Post secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources and/or equivalent experience.Relevant certificate in payroll or payroll management, such as a PCP (or equivalent).Global experience with detailed working knowledge of compensation and withholdings in North America, Europe, and Australia.Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial analysis to strategic business planning.Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information and compensation calculations.Excellent verbal and written English, with ability to communicate professionally in a global environment.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Proficient computer skills and IT knowledge, including intermediate use of Excel.Proficient in the use of accounting software, preferably SAPAbility to work in a changing, fast-paced environment.
