Global SMID Cap Equities Analyst – Sydney basedExcellent opportunity to join a high-conviction global equities teamInternational small- and mid-cap focusLeading Australian investment managerOur client is a highly regarded investment manager and is interested to hear from people who can bring relevant skills and experience to the role. The successful candidate will join the Global SMID Cap team which invests in small- and mid-cap companies worldwide, focusing on structural growth, strong balance sheets and sustainable competitive advantages. You will source and research ideas across developed and emerging markets, conduct company and industry analysis, build and maintain financial models and valuations (DCF, comparables, scenario testing), participate in company meetings and earnings calls, prepare investment memos and presentations, and monitor portfolio holdings and forecasts as new information emerges. This role will suit a range of candidates with different levels of experience depending on skills and individual strengths. We encourage applicants with a strong background in financial accounting, valuation and modelling, and a demonstrated passion for bottom-up global investing.Candidates who have a combination of the following skillsets are encouraged to apply;Bachelor’s degree or above in Business (Commerce/Accounting/Finance), with 2–8 years’ experience in equities research, investment banking, corporate advisory or related rolesStrong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capability; genuine interest in markets and fundamental stock researchGlobal mindset with curiosity for SMID cap opportunities across sectors and regionsProgress toward CFA designation viewed favourablyProactive problem solver who enjoys a challenging / high-performance environmentInterpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, company management and clients at all levelsExcellent interpersonal, communication, relationship and time management skillsThis presents as an excellent and rare opportunity to move into global equities within a leading franchise as well as a strong platform for career development.To explore further in confidence, please send your resume to Lindsay Hurst lindsay.hurst@platinumpacificpartners.com.au
