Job Description

The GM of Industrial Engineering is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing production processes to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity in garment manufacturing. The role involves the principles to improve workflow, develop accurate SMV calculations, ensure optimal line balancing and support cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality and contributing to the company's growth and profitability.Strategic & Departmental Leadership: Lead the Industrial Engineering Department and oversee process improvement, production planning, and cost optimization initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization across all sewing, finishing, and support departments.Set departmental goals, KPIs, and action plans aligned with organizational objectives. Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the factory.Production Planning & Efficiency Management:Establish and monitor SMV (Standard Minute Value) and machine layout planning for new and existing styles.Conduct capacity studies, time and motion studies, line balancing, and method improvement to maximize line output and optimize production processes. Support production teams to achieve daily efficiency and quality targets.Ensure effective pre-production analysis and coordination with planning, merchandising, and production teams.Process Improvement & Cost Control:Identify and implement cost reduction and productivity improvement projects. Introduce best practices and modern industrial engineering tools to analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks and corrective actions.Optimize manpower allocation, minimize non-value-added activities and improve workflow. Review and monitor style-wise cost analysis, machine utilization, and operator performance. Conduct, develop & implement Standard Operating Procedures- SOPs, training programs, and lean tools (5S, Kaizen), and quality control measures to ensure product quality and consistency.Work closely with Production, Planning, QA, Maintenance, and HR to achieve seamless production flow. Participate in buyer audits and provide technical support as required.Key Requirements: Master’s/ Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or relevant field.Minimum 12 to 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, with 5 to 6 years in a leadership role.Proven expertise in managing large-scale manufacturing operations specializing in woven products.Proven ability to lead process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and identify innovative solutions.
