Job Description

Company DescriptionThis is B&SB&S exists to make premium consumer goods available to everyone, anywhere. We believe that getting access to products that bring joy and comfort into everyday lives should be easy around the globe.Through our global logistics network and advanced supply chain platforms, we connect suppliers, logistics partners, wholesalers, retailers and consumers all over the world. We combine scale with flexibility and data-driven decision making to deliver value for both our partners and end customers.Within our Liquors segment, we manage large international flows of excise goods across Europe and beyond — a complex chain where efficiency, compliance and cost control are key to our success.Job DescriptionIn our logistics operation, thousands of shipments move every year between warehouses, customers and suppliers. These transport flows represent a major cost component within the supply chain — yet due to the variety of carriers, modalities and contracts, the total freight spend is complex to oversee and optimise. At the same time, new regulations such as the Dutch kilometer charge (KM-heffing) and the growing focus on CO₂-based cost attribution will have a structural impact on future transport costs and decision making. To prepare for this, B&S wants to build a structured transport cost inventory and KPI dashboard that provides insight into the full freight structure — by lane, modality, and carrier — and that supports scenario analysis for new legislation. And that’s where you come in.QualificationsWhat will you do as an intern?Map out the current freight cost structure: carriers, modalities, contract types, and cost drivers (€/shipment, €/pallet, €/km). Gather data from ERP, TMS, and finance systems to build a complete cost inventory of transport spend YTD. Develop a KPI framework that makes costs measurable and comparable — such as cost per pallet, cost per LM, outlier % above p90, etc. Visualise these KPI’s in a clear Excel-based dashboard that can evolve into a Power BI report. Analyse the impact of future regulation, such as the Dutch KM-heffing and potential CO₂ cost attribution models. Formulate a recommendation on how B&S should adapt its transport strategy to stay cost-efficient and compliant. Why is this interesting for you? You’ll work on a real business challenge with high financial impact. You’ll translate data into management insights and see how supply chain, finance and compliance come together. You’ll help design the foundation for a long-term KPI and reporting structure used across multiple B&S entities. You’ll learn to connect analytical, strategic and operational perspectives — a perfect fit for a graduation project. What will you learn?Building a complete freight cost overview from complex data sources. Translating logistics data into meaningful KPI’s and dashboards. Analysing the financial impact of future transport regulations. Advising management on cost transparency and compliance strategies. Collaborating with stakeholders in logistics, finance and supply chain. This is youYou are a student enrolled in a university of applied sciences (HBO) in Industrial Engineering & Management, Logistics Management, or Supply Chain Management. You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable with Excel / Power BI. You take initiative, are detail-oriented, and enjoy working with data and processes. You are interested in sustainability, legislation and their impact on logistics. You live in or near Veendam or Delfzijl (Groningen). Problem statement and objectiveDue to fragmented data sources, diverse transport contracts and upcoming regulatory changes such as the Dutch KM-heffing, B&S currently lacks a complete, comparable view of its freight costs. This limits strategic control, forecasting accuracy and supplier evaluation. The objective of this project is to develop a structured inventory of all freight costs, define and implement a standard KPI framework, and assess the financial impact of new regulations on B&S’s logistics operations. The project will deliver a data-driven recommendation for future cost control and compliance.Additional InformationWe offer youAn internship compensation of €500 gross per month, this is an all- in conpensation (based on a 40-hour workweek and HBO/WO level). Internship of 40 hours per week (fewer hours subject to consultation)A place in our young, ambitious and fast-growing team. Fun! We regularly free up some time for drinks or games at the department.
