Job Description
For the European Commission, we are looking for a Graphic Designer professional with at least 2-3 years of experience:NATURE OF THE TASKS• Contribute to the visual aspects of communication campaigns in the frame of DG EAC’sintegrated communication strategies.• Design original artworks and visuals for publications, websites, and social media, includingillustrations, animated visuals, and infographics, from conception to delivery.• Realisation of event material for physical and digital events, including merchandising.• Adapt a visual identity to various communication materials, linguistic adaptation of the sourcefiles.• Collaborate on video projects by editing footage, adding graphics, and ensuring high-qualityoutput.• Oversee and review the work delivered by external contractors (design staff), from conceptionto delivery in order to ensure high quality deliverables that have an impact on the EC visualidentity and/or EAC visual concepts.• Consult EAC colleagues on visual communication matters.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS• Excellent knowledge of design software tools (Adobe CC suite) and Microsoft software(Word, Power Point, Outlook) on Mac OS and PC• Strong understanding of core visual design principles, including typography, layout, andcomposition. Knowledge of video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects) and AI imagegenerator tools like Adobe Firefly would be an asset• Familiarity with user-centred design principles and methodologies.• Creativity: be able to produce interesting and innovative ideas to develop visualcommunication products• Good knowledge of English Understanding (C1), Speaking (C1), Writing (C1). Goodknowledge of French would be an asset.• Good communication skills: able to listen to and speak with staff and contractors and ensure aclear understanding of our communication needs.• Good project management skills: well organised with a strong sense of initiative andresponsibility, stress resilient.• Time-management skills: balancing competing priorities and multiple projects while meetingstrict deadlines. Able to work autonomously as well as in a team.• Knowledge of EC institutional communication would be an important asset.• EU Institutions references would be ideal. Portfolio (web or printed) is mandatory
