With a history that spans over 100 years and programs that tackle the issue of local poverty from every angle, UWBA is uniquely positioned to mobilize and motivate all sectors of the community toward the vision of ending the cycle of poverty.Job OverviewWe are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative Graphic Designer to join our team as a part-time contractor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating compelling visual content across a variety of channels, including digital, print, and social media. You will bring ideas to life through design, ensuring brand consistency while innovating to engage and inspire our audiences.You will be collaborating with a team based in the United States, so exceptional English skills, verbal and written are required. Score requirements for this role among the most common proficiency tests are the following:·       CEFR: Minimum score C1·       IELTS: Band 8·       TOEFL: 95 or higher·       EF SET: 65 or higher·       Cambridge English: 190 or higherYou must be available 20 hours per week for this role and dedicated during that time with no other conflicts. Required hours are 9 AM – 1 PM PST (San Francisco). Payment will be made via international wire every two weeks. The half-time (20 hours per week) payment is $600 per month paid in $US.Along with your resume submission, please include a link or attachment so we can see a sample of your work. Applicants who do not submit a link or other portfolio information will not be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and produce graphics, layouts, and visual assets for digital and print, including websites, email campaigns, social media, video, presentations, signage, reports, and marketing materialsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, development and community impact) to understand project goals and deliver impactful visualsTranslate concepts into visually appealing and brand-aligned designsManage multiple projects and deadlines using project management tool, while maintaining high quality and attention to detailContribute to and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all touchpointsManage assets in internal DAM system including organization, tagging and permissionsSource and edit photography, illustrations, and other design elementsPrepare files for production and work with vendors as needed for print and digital outputStay updated on design trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh ideas and perspectivesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree2–5 years of professional design experience (agency or in-house preferred)Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools (e.g., Figma, Canva, PowerPoint, etc.)Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects across formats and platformsExcellent typography, layout, and color theory skillsUnderstanding of digital formats, including web and social media specificationsAbility to take feedback, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of motion graphics, video editing, or web design (a plus)Preferred SkillsExperience with animation or motion design (After Effects, Premiere Pro)Basic HTML/CSS or familiarity with web design platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow)Photography and photo editing skillsExperience working within nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations
