Job Profile: Commercial Sales Manager - Jersey - Solar SolutionsDepartment: Sales / Surveying / Marketing Reports To: Managing DirectorThe Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance across all service lines, including residential and commercial solar PV, battery storage, servicing, and solar roofing. The role begins with direct involvement in residential sales and transitions into ownership of the commercial pipeline.
Success requires achieving personal and departmental sales targets, ensuring product solution fit using strong product and industry knowledge, and maintaining accurate CRM and quoting processesA high level of technical understanding and product familiarity is expected, along with clear alignment to the company offering, sales style, and the Jersey market context. Longer term this role would see progression into managing a small sales team and upskilling in to Commercial Solar and BD with MD.
Sales Delivery & Performance • Own and deliver both personal and departmental sales targets • Monitor and report on pipeline activity across all service lines including solar, battery, roofing, servicing, and small works, quote progress, and revenue forecasts. • Ensure sales systems are structured for speed, consistency, and clarity from lead through to close. • Maintain CRM accuracy, oversee follow-ups, and track conversions. Ensure Leads are moved them through the pipeline to closed won or closed lost with effectiveness • Ensure all sales approaches and documentation align with UK industry best practices. • Implement effective a sales KPI dashboard for board-level reporting.
Technical Sales & Surveying • Conduct initial site surveys to gather accurate data for solar system design and quoting. • Ensure clear, complete survey packs and specifications • Translate site and client information into solution fit ensuring the right products are specified and offered to the client. • Collaborate with design to ensure proposals are technically feasible and installation-ready. • Maintain consistency across technical documentation, quote templates, and customer specifications. • Ensure provision is made to support Small Electrical works, Repairs, EV Chargers & Roofing Client Engagement & Market Development • Act as lead point of contact for commercial clients once onboarded.
• Represent the company at meetings, events, and professional forums. • Handle high-value or complex customer journeys from quote to close. • Work with MD to develop commercial packages, offers, and partner relationships. • Support marketing in commercial campaign planning and execution. • Stay up to date with the latest market trends, pricing structures, and solar technologies to ensure customer needs are met with relevant and current solutions. • Oversee trade debtors to ensure commercial relationships are maintained. This role is an excellent opportunity to relocate from the UK to Jersey.
