The RoleWe believe in the talent and strength of our team, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Project Delivery Team.
The Project Engineer is responsible for the designing, planning, and overseeing the execution of electrical systems within a project, ensuring compliance with codes, budget, and timelines. This will be done by collaborating with our engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, while managing project deliverables, technical documentation, and quality control throughout the construction process. This role will also travel and work on-site at various projects on a rotating roster. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Engineering Support: Select appropriate electrical equipment and materials based on detail design requirements. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless technical project execution. Quality Assurance:
Development of project specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s). To manage quality control by identifying critical points in the construction process where inspections and tests need to be performed to detect potential defects early on. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed project documentation including technical reports, design calculations, and as-built drawings. Maintain accurate records of project activities, technical changes, and approvals. Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and guidance to team members and contractors. Analyse and propose solutions to technical challenges. Skills and KnowledgeTechnical Proficiency: Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power systems, circuit design, and control systems.
Proficiency in relevant design software like AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, and simulation tools. Knowledge of electrical codes and standards to ensure project compliance. Project Management Skills: Effective planning and scheduling of project timelines and milestones. Managing project budgets and resource allocation. Risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Monitoring project progress and identifying potential issues. Communication and Collaboration: Clear and concise communication with customer, contractors, and 3rd party engineers. Ability to translate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Quality and Safety Focus: Adherence to safety protocols and procedures on-site. Quality assurance practices to ensure project meets specifications.
Attention to detail in design and implementation. Problem-Solving Abilities: Identifying root causes of technical issues. Developing creative solutions to complex electrical install problems. Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during project execution. Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in Electrical Engineering. The production of electrical drawings and documents in accordance with Australian. Standards, codes and guidelines. Advanced knowledge of MS Office. Advanced knowledge of AutoCad.
