Altery could be the next chapter in your professional journey!Based in Cyprus, the Group DPO will oversee Altery’s global data protection framework, ensuring full compliance with the regulatory standards across all jurisdictions in which we operate, including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, UAE Federal Law No. 45 of 2021, DIFC Data Protection Law, and ISO/IEC 27001.Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as an independent advisor to senior management, regulators, and data subjects, ensuring Altery remains a trusted and compliant FinTech leader. You’ll have both strategic and operational influence — shaping group-wide policies, coordinating local implementation, and fostering a culture of privacy awareness throughout the organisation.What you'll be doingLead and implement the Group’s global data protection and privacy strategy.Advise management and employees on data protection obligations and compliance best practices.Monitor, assess, and audit data protection compliance across all Group entities.Act as the primary contact for data protection authorities and manage data subject requests.Oversee data breach response and reporting, ensuring timely and compliant action.Guide and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) across jurisdictions.Deliver training and awareness initiatives to strengthen Altery’s privacy culture.Serve as a liaison between Group headquarters and local entities, ensuring harmonised standards and continuous improvement.What You’ll Bring To UsProven experience as a Data Protection Officer or senior privacy professional, ideally within FinTech or financial services.Deep expertise in EU GDPR, UK GDPR, UAE and DIFC Data Protection Laws, and ISO/IEC 27001 and other international regulations, as applicable.Strong understanding of cross-border data governance, regulatory risk, and compliance frameworks.Ability to operate independently and report directly to senior leadership.Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent in English; Greek and/or Cypriot Greek proficiency is a strong advantage.Integrity, discretion, and a solutions-driven approach to complex regulatory environmentWhat we offerTeam and our Product: We are team players and we are passionate about ourproduct and understand what we aim to achieve and the impact it will make.Growth Opportunities: You can Influence and shape our story while advancing your career.Flexibility: We always listen to our people and can be flexible with arrangements.Hybrid or Remote Working: We don't expect you to be in the office every day.Local Market Perks: Enjoy insurance coverage, local perks, and beautiful offices.Why to join usWe may not be perfect, but our strength lies in our resilience.
