OverviewThe Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services required by the company. This role is crucial to driving cost efficiency, improving supplier performance and ensuring quality controls and adherence to policies and procedures on supply chain managementResponsibilitiesThe scope of your duties will include developing, implementing and maintaining a company standard operations manual (SOAP) and providing overall direction to purchasing agents and buyers throughout the process of evaluating suppliers, working with vendors and negotiating supplier agreements and terms of engagement. Other duties include but are not limited to:Work with VP of Finance/CFO to develop departmental objectivesDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goalsDevelop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality products and servicesNegotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to secure advantageous dealsAnalyze market trends and supply base to identify new sourcing opportunitiesOversee procurement process from acquisition to delivery and paymentDevelop and improve tools to support accurate and efficient ordering and forecastingEstablish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activitiesConduct cost-benefit analyses for key purchasing decisionsDrive standardization of department processes and proceduresOversee department personnel to ensure procurement strategies, policies and procedures are being followedOversee department personnel to ensure sourcing and procurement meets sales and margin goalsManage the “pipeline” flow of merchandiseManage price negotiation for any company wide purchased items and any promotional itemsNegotiate pricing and annual renewals of All Insurances, Fuel Contracts, Travel Agreements with Hotel and Car Rental Companies for Local and International Business Travel for all Staff.Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure accurate and timely payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial recordsIdentify and implement process improvement to enhance procurement efficiencyProvide direction on company, and department goals and offer plan to achieve them.Manage and mentor procurement teamConsistently follow up with managers to ensure purchases are made in a timely and efficient wayBe accessibleMaintain effective communication at all timesAct as liaison with Corporate and Operational departmentsAddress all problems/issues in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvementDevelop and maintain relationships with Operations teams to improve implementation of procurement initiativesActively drive Talent Management and People Development in departmentWork with Human Resources to address staffing and turnover concernsEnsure Team Members are fully trained to effectively execute dutiesProvide Team Members with all tools necessary to effectively execute dutiesDevelop and enforce systems that drive performanceHold Team Members accountableUphold policies and standardsEnsure adherence to all Company and Department standardsCommunicate and implement changes on standards and policiesProvide a harassment free work environment and follow all Human Resources policiesAppropriately handle all disciplinary actions in a consistent mannerPerforms all other Procurement related tasks and projects as assigned by managementQualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or financeStrong negotiation and contract management skillsAnalytical and strategic thinking abilitiesStrong management and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet reporting deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead results-oriented teamsStrong attention to detailGood oral and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Work ExperienceAt least five years’ experience in procurement/purchasing with 2 years supervisory experience.
