Job Description

Job Summary: Gruppo San Donato and GKSD Healthcare are seeking experienced and visionary Chief Medical Officers (CMO) to lead our medical initiatives across the MENA region. The ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience in medical practice within hospital settings, coupled with a strong track record of clinical leadership, strategic innovation, and healthcare excellence. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of medical care, overseeing clinical operations, and driving initiatives to enhance patient outcomes while aligning with organizational goals.

Educational & Professional Qualifications: - Medical degree with full, unblemished registration with a recognized medical council and a license to practice at a consultant level. - Higher medical qualification (e. g. , Board Certification, FRCS, FCPS, CCT, CCST, or equivalent).

- Valid medical registration, revalidation, and current appraisal status (or MENA equivalent) at a senior consultant level or above. - Postgraduate qualification in medical education, clinical governance, or healthcare management. - Management qualification (e. g. , MBA, MMM, or equivalent) in clinical leadership or medical administration (preferred). Experience: - Substantial board-level experience in a healthcare organization, preferably with international exposure. - Proven record of successful leadership during organizational change and clinical transformation. - Demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, implement strategic vision, and drive clinical excellence. - Experience in clinical governance, risk management, and research governance. - Hands-on involvement in digital health, clinical informatics, and integrated care models.

Skills & Competencies: - Strong grasp of financial management, service costing, and healthcare quality systems. - Expertise in: - Strategic planning and clinical operations management. - Leading large, multidisciplinary clinical teams. - Implementing evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, and patient safety frameworks. - Desirable: Experience in digital health innovation, AI in healthcare, and value-based care models. Research & Development: - Ability to champion research initiatives, foster innovation, and support academic collaborations. - Track record of peer-reviewed publications (minimum 5 in indexed journals). - Experience in medical audits, clinical benchmarking, and data-driven care improvements. Leadership & Personal Attributes:

- Unquestionable integrity, ethical standards, and professional probity (must meet fit and proper person criteria with no disciplinary or regulatory issues). - Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills. - Ability to navigate complex medical and organizational challenges diplomatically. - Culturally sensitive leadership style, adept at managing diverse, multinational teams. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: - Provide executive oversight for all medical practices, clinical operations, and governance across the MENA region. - Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and best practices in line with international standards and regulatory requirements. Operational Excellence: - Lead clinical performance reviews, ensuring data-driven improvements in patient care, safety, and efficiency.

- Oversee medical staff recruitment, training, and professional development to foster a high-performance culture. Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate with executive leadership, government bodies, and healthcare partners to align medical strategies with business growth. - Represent the organization in medical forums, policy discussions, and industry partnerships. Innovation & Research: - Drive digital health transformation, AI integration, and telemedicine advancements. - Promote research initiatives, academic collaborations, and evidence-based innovations. Quality & Compliance: - Ensure adherence to clinical governance, accreditation standards, and risk management frameworks. - Lead medical audits, peer reviews, and continuous quality improvement programs. Education & Advocacy:

- Develop medical education programs for staff and patients, enhancing health literacy and community engagement. - Contribute to medical publications, conferences, and thought leadership to elevate the organization’s reputation. Qualifications: - Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution; board certification preferred. - Minimum 15 years of clinical & leadership experience in hospital settings. - Proven research contributions (published in reputable journals). - Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage). - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data for clinical decision-making. - Passion for ethical healthcare, innovation, and transformative leadership.
