Gruppo San Donato and GKSD Healthcare, is currently seeking a seasoned Chief of Urology to spearhead the operations of the Urology Department within our project located in the MENA region. This pivotal leadership position necessitates outstanding clinical expertise and adept decision-making capabilities to ensure the provision of patient-centered, high-quality urological care, while effectively aligning departmental initiatives with the hospital's long-term strategic objectives. The Chief of Urology will be responsible for both clinical and administrative oversight, focusing on enhancing urological care delivery, optimizing staff performance, and improving operational efficiency.
Adherence to hospital policies and healthcare regulations relevant to the area of expertise, alongside collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, is critical for achieving optimal outcomes for patients experiencing urological conditions. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Urology Department, ensuring alignment with hospital goals and advancing treatment methods and protocols for urological conditions. Oversee clinical services in the Urology Department, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatments for urological disorders, including surgeries, with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based practices.
Promote collaboration across departments, integrating urology services with surgery, radiology, oncology, and nephrology to ensure comprehensive patient care. Ensure efficient resource utilization, including the management of operating rooms, diagnostic tools, and overall departmental resources to maintain high-quality care. Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, safety, and compliance with local healthcare standards. Regularly conduct audits and performance assessments. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, ensuring high standards of care are maintained. Implement necessary training programs and foster professional development opportunities to build a skilled and efficient team.
Ensure clear and compassionate communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, progress, and post-care instructions, especially in sensitive cases. Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, overseeing staff training, equipment management, and the implementation of best practices in urology. Hold accountability for departmental KPIs, closely monitoring clinical and operational performance to achieve productivity and quality targets. Qualifications: Medical degree with specialization in Urology, with a minimum of 10 years of post-specialization experience. Full certification and registration with the relevant medical board or authority. Advanced knowledge of urological protocols and surgical techniques.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure urology environment. Fluency in English is mandatory. Preferred Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for managing diverse teams and engaging with patients and stakeholders, especially in cases requiring sensitive communication around urological conditions and treatments. Proven experience with budget management in a healthcare setting, ensuring optimal use of departmental resources for diagnostics, surgeries, and overall patient care. In-depth understanding of urological procedures and surgeries, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives in urological care.
