Visit peraton.com to learn how we're keeping people around the world safe and secure.Program OverviewAbout The RolePeraton is currently seeking a Line Maintenance Engineering Technician to support the Operations and Hardware Maintenance department at the Guam Remote Station (GRS) located on Camp Blaz, Guam.Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the Guam Remote Station (GRS). GRS is one of four operational and diverse ground terminals that comprise the NASA Space Relay (SR) Ground Segment. GRS provides the Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TTC) link for two Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) and associated equipment and data paths for missions supported through the SR. GRS through the NASA White Sands Complex serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.This position will be responsible for: Serve as first line of defense in the prevention of customer service data loss and anomaly resolution for multiple critical space missionsPerforms routine, non-routine and complex assignments under supervision involving Ground Communications Equipment (GCE) systems related to daily-shift operations and maintenance activities in support of spacecraft operationsReceive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently or in teams; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructionsConduct operational system adjustments, preventive and corrective maintenance actions, and evaluates equipment performance, meticulously documenting all aforementioned actionsIdentify and troubleshoot system problems, conducts tests using all types of instruments, analyzes results to restore systems, improve performance, and documents and reports resultsComply with operational, maintenance and organizational procedures and policiesAdhere to and recommend changes for applicable technical and process documentationProactively seek training to achieve all required technical certificationsReport to and advises immediate supervisor on all related operational, technical and personnel mattersMaintain NASA and Peraton mandatory trainingQualificationsRequired Experience: An Associate of Science degree in electrical, computer or networks engineering technology or 2 years technical training and 2 years of related experience; In lieu of degree, 4+ years of related experience is allowable.Prior experience with one or more of the following: satellite earth station and communications systems, satellite link access technology, antenna systems, radio communications and digital signal processing systems, telemetry monitor and control systems; or knowledge of IT network architecture, network protocol standards (TCP, UDP, IP) and computer architecture and operating systemsRotating shift work is required.Work Environment - the working environment includes exposure to cold, noise and shift work.Must be able to perform tasks under certain time and resource constraints, in difficult surroundings, or conditionsPhysical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical effortsSecurity clearance - Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearanceMust be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenshipDesired Experience: An active SECRET security clearancePrior experience with NASASCA / Union / Intern Rate or RangeTBDDetailsTarget Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
