As a player, he had many on-field accolades, but he also had an immense impact off-the-field as a business executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for racial equity and social justice.To honor Hank Aaron’s legacy, we welcome an aspiring sports business professional as a Henry Aaron Fellow to experience a variety of front office operations, including playing an integral part in the planning of our annual Hank Aaron Week initiatives.Position OverviewThe Hank Aaron Fellow will have the opportunity to meet with the Chief Executive Officer and the Vice President of Talent Management to gain insight into organizational strategy and leadership development. Through rotations across departments which will include Marketing and Community Affairs, the Fellow will gain hands-on experience in day-to-day operations while developing a comprehensive understanding of the organization. In addition to departmental rotations, the Fellow will receive executive mentorship and leadership development designed to build the skills and perspective necessary to lead and operate within a Major League sports franchise.The Fellow will rotate through departments during the experience as well as assist on a project solving a current business need alongside an executive. While in each rotation, the Fellow will work directly with leaders within that department on a variety of projects and ongoing initiatives, contributing to the overall success of each team.ResponsibilitiesWork independently and within a team on a variety of projects and initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the Marketing and Community Affairs departmentWhile with the Community Affairs department, assist on Hank Aaron-specific initiatives including the Henry Louis Aaron FundAssist with the project management of special projects which may include compiling presentations, setting meeting agendas, adhering to project deadlines, etc. Acts as a liaison with other leaders, departments, outside agencies, as neededOn occasion, work directly with executive team to include Braves' President and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Culture Officer and Vice President of Talent ManagementOther duties as assignedRequirementsUndergraduate or graduate degree in relevant disciplineExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong executive presenceExperience presenting in front of executives, key stakeholders, or other audiencesAbility to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the companyProficient in Microsoft OfficeCustomer service orientedAbility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays, as neededAbility to prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, and demonstrate initiativeThrough The Henry Aaron Fellowship, the Atlanta Braves seek to build a workforce that reflects a wide array of perspectives, backgrounds and experiences.
