OverviewThe Microsoft Applied Sciences Group incubates disruptive technologies for nextgen hardware products and works on exciting projects that shape how people interact with computers. We are seeking a Hardware Engineer 2 to design and develop embedded systems and firmware for next-generation hardware devices. Contributes to board bring-up, debugging, and hardware/software integration. Create and execute test plans to validate performance and reliability. Document designs, manage schedules, and collaborate across disciplines. Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure successful production.  QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND some technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND solid technical engineering experience  OR equivalent experience.  Experience in hardware/embedded systems development. Other RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.Preferred QualificationsProficiency in PCB design (e.g., Altium), hardware debugging, and C/C++ firmware. Experience with low-power design and BLE. Solid communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
