Job Description

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries.The Flight Software "Hardware in the Loop" intern will support the setup, integration, and testing of real-time simulation environments that connect hardware components with software models.Spring: around 12-16 weeks (January - April)Summer: around 10 weeks (May - August)Responsibilities:Configure and maintain test benches for system evaluationDevelop and implement test and automation scriptsDebug signal and communication issues across systemsAssist in validating vehicle and flight deck control systemsDocument test results and maintain accurate recordsCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance system reliability and performanceMinimum Requirements:Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical fieldProficiency in Julia or strong experience with scientific computing languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s). Strong understanding of engineering first principlesDemonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teamsEnthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus' missionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGPA of 3.0 or aboveU.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUSThe person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
