At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career.Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experienceCombine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellenceAdvance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoymentAbout The RoleThe HW ECAD Expert is a member of a global HW development team to realize Infotainment- and CarComputer- solutions in automotive systems, which includes assessment of requirements and feasibility, definition of suitable concepts, implementation and verification, but mainly design of PCBs with multiple layer stack-ups.What You Will DoUtilize Mentor Graphics Design Suite to design PCB layout for projects / productsDesign of PCBs with multiple layers, considering the specifications and restrictions for routing high speed signals and interfaces (Video, Ethernet, LPDDR, USB,etc) and for routing power planes and signals. Involvement in defining technical aspects of PCB design for projects/productsSupport to provide appropriate PCB material and stack up choices/definitionsExperience with current PCB material choices and fabrication techniquesAssess the cost impact and manufacturing impact of PCBs on projects/productsBe involved in verifying PCB vendor technical and quality capabilitiesCooperate with internal and external team members, including Mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, PCB suppliers etc. Take ownership of PCB design and on time delivery with high qualitySignal and power integrity simulations based on current layout designs (using Harman agreed tools). Release the final production files for PCBs. Be in contact with PCB manufacturers and respond to their technical questions regarding PCB production process. What You Need To Be SuccessfulMinimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, computer science or related areas)At least 3 years professional experience in PCB layout designGood experience with one of the following CAD tools: Mentor, Pads, Allegro – Preferred: MentorExpeditionFamiliar with IPC and other standards for PCB design and manufacturingKnowledge of Hardware Technology in automotive areaGood English speaking and writingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross functionally to understand requirements Bonus Points if You Have Known Branches: Automotive Manufacturer (OEM) and Automotive Supplier (Tier-1 and Tier-2) Semiconductor Manufacturer (OEM) and Semiconductor SupplierAnalyze SI requirements of productsExperience with suggesting PCB technologies to get adequate SI performance from PCBsWhat Makes You EligibleGood knowledge in spoken and written EnglishYou are willing to travel, if necessary.
