Your new company Our defence company, based in Melbourne, is looking for a purchasing officer on a 3-6 fixed-term opportunity to work on a new project within the procurement and supply chain team.
Your new role Purchase order book monitoring and follow-up Track and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, shipping dates, and resolve delays Identify and resolve discrepancies between supplier confirmations and order book entries Provide regular status updates to procurement and delivery teams Escalate issues appropriately and negotiate solutions to delivery problems. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have experience with ERP systems or order management tools with strong communication, stakeholder management and follow-up skills.
You will have experience of communicating with suppliers on purchase orders. You'll also need to already have baseline clearance.
